For the best newborn photos, I recommend scheduling your session within the first two weeks after your baby arrives. During these early days, babies are often sleepier and naturally more comfortable curling into those sweet, gentle poses. This stage also makes it easier to capture the soft, peaceful look of a brand-new baby while keeping the experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

When should I book my newborn photo session?

I recommend reserving your newborn session during pregnancy, ideally after 20 weeks. Booking early gives you more options when choosing a date that fits your schedule.When you book, we’ll select a tentative session date based on your estimated due date. Once your baby arrives, we can adjust the date if needed so that the session takes place during those first two weeks.A $100 retainer is required to secure your booking. This amount is applied toward the total price of your chosen package.If your baby has already arrived and you haven’t booked yet, you’re welcome to reach out within the first couple of days. I’ll let you know what dates I currently have available, although I cannot guarantee availability during the first two weeks.

What if my baby is already more than two weeks old?

There is no need to worry if your baby is already a few weeks old. I offer newborn-style sessions for babies up to 2 months, and I can create beautiful images at different stages during those early weeks.As your baby gets older, they naturally become more awake and may not stay asleep as easily. In these situations, I like to use gentle wrapping to help them feel calm, cozy, and secure throughout the session.Before your session, I take your baby’s age into account when planning the setups and poses. Everything is adjusted to your baby’s stage so we can create beautiful images while keeping your little one comfortable and relaxed.

Can I reschedule my photo session?

Yes, you can reschedule your session if your plans change. When you give me at least 5 days’ notice, I’ll be happy to move your session to another available date without an additional fee.For changes made within 5 days of your scheduled session, a $100 rescheduling fee will apply.Because I reserve one newborn session per day, each date is held specifically for your family. Last-minute changes can make it difficult to offer that time to another client, which is why the rescheduling fee applies.

How are the setups selected for the photo session?

Before your session, I’ll send you a short questionnaire where you can share your preferences, including colors and the overall style you love.I prepare the studio ahead of time, so everything is ready before you arrive and we can spend our session focusing on your baby. You’re also welcome to send me any photos from my portfolio that inspire you. I’ll use them as a reference and recreate the setups as closely as possible with the props and materials I have available.I usually prepare several setup options for your session, giving you a variety of styles to choose from. When you arrive, you’ll be able to see the setups I’ve created and select your favorites for your baby’s session.

When will my photos be ready?

Within 2–3 business days after your session, you’ll receive a gallery of your unedited images. From there, you’ll choose the photos you’d like me to professionally retouch, according to the number of edited images included in your selected package.If you’d like more photos, you’ll also have the option to purchase additional retouched images or the full gallery of unedited photos.Once you send me the numbers of your selected images, I’ll begin the editing process. Your final professionally retouched images will be delivered within 1–2 weeks after I receive your selection.

Where does the photo session take place?

All newborn sessions take place in my private photography studio, where I have everything prepared for your baby's session. The studio is fully equipped with a variety of props, wraps, outfits, backdrops, and carefully selected setups, so you don’t need to worry about bringing everything with you.I prepare each session in advance based on your preferences and your baby's age, creating a comfortable and welcoming space for your little one.

Are props, outfits, and backdrops provided?

Yes! I provide all of the props, outfits, wraps, and backdrops needed for your newborn session. I have a variety of styles, colors, and setups available, and I’ll prepare everything in advance based on your preferences.You’re welcome to share your favorite colors or photos from my portfolio before the session, and I’ll create setups that match your style as closely as possible.

Can parents and siblings be included in the session?

Absolutely! Parents and siblings are welcome to be part of the session. I love including a few family portraits alongside the individual newborn photos, so you can have beautiful memories together as a family.The number of family and sibling photos included depends on the package you choose. If you have a specific family photo in mind, feel free to let me know before the session so I can plan for it.

What should I bring to the newborn session?

You don’t need to bring much to your newborn session. I provide the wraps, outfits, props, and other studio items needed for the photos.I recommend bringing everything your baby may need during the session, such as diapers, wipes, a pacifier if your baby uses one, and a bottle or feeding supplies. You’re also welcome to bring a special item or keepsake that you would like to include in the photos.

What happens if my baby is awake or fussy during the session?

Accepted Answer

No need to worry if your baby is awake or a little fussy during the session. We’ll take our time and allow plenty of breaks for feeding, soothing, cuddling, and changing when needed.Every baby has their own rhythm, so I never rush the process. I’ll adjust the pace, poses, and setups according to your baby’s needs to keep the session as calm and comfortable as possible.My priority is always your baby’s safety and comfort while creating beautiful images for your family.

Is the session deposit refundable?

The $100 deposit is non-refundable, as it is used to reserve your session date exclusively for your family.If you need to reschedule, you may move your session to another available date according to my rescheduling policy. The deposit will remain applied toward your selected package.
